Is Your Adulthood Authentic?
by prophecor ini've been training with some uniquely gifted folks at my place of employment.
life has done some seemingly impressive things with them.
one who's spent numerous years in the marine corps is an excellent asset to the company as are others who've likewise spent time in the military.

As I walked into town, so I saw a lady...
So you did. So what?
For future reference for all of you who like to use the word 'so' as sooo not a quantifier, DON'T. 'So' is such a dependent yet demanding word that it can't stand alone.

Worst WT term ever
by Robert7 inmy vote for the worst watchtower term is:.
circumcision of the heart!.
i can't believe that there are people who can not only say "circumcision of the heart" with a straight face in front of the congregation, but defend its 'meaning'.. other runners up in my opinion:.

The bountiful table groaning under the weight of the spiritual feast food metaphores always made me starving for real food at home. I'd daydream during the talk and WT about eating food. It was torture! -

Demon infested sounds like fleas and roaches. To get rid of them, use Demon-B-GONE! Exercisms in a can! Faster than a speeding Bible! -

Cain and Abel
by White Dove inwhere did abel get the idea to put something on an alter and offer it to god?
i always wondered where abel got the idea to kill a little baby animal and burn the carcas as a gift to god?
i would have zapped abel on the spot before he could kill the poor creature in his care.

"If evolution is true, what's to keep us from behaving like animals?"
by Awakened07 inare we "just babies"?
are we "just animals"?.
yes - animals do not and cannot appreciate art, music, poetry, history, beauty etc.

I think we do behave like animals, though not in the crazy ways. The difference with us is that we consciously consider different angles and consequences of our actions. Other than that, we do behave like the animals, just with better manners. -

Did being a JW make you overly judgemental?
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inlooking back, being a jw meant constantly analyzing and categorizing others.
on field service, persons were either "sheeplike" or "goatlike".
in the congregation it went even further.

I agree with everyone here. I judged in my heart everyone but treated everyone the same regardless. In my mind though, there was a file for every perceived infraction from noticing a person's WT not having enough underlining or highlighting or not marked at all as being not read or studied at all to honoring the DF'ing thing by a small smile but no hello for them. I judged harshly in my mind but not in practice. I'm a much better person and freer too now that I simply accept people for who they are and what they want to be. -

From a very early age, I was taught to hate the kids in the neighborhood because they were goats. I never took onto the hate, though. I liked them and associated with them every chance I got. I wanted to be with these Armageddon bound goats. I didn't want to die with them, however, just be with them while they were still around. I didn't understand how they could be so nice as goats but the kids at the hall could be so awful and double tongued as sheep. Never made good friends with sheep that stayed in. I've always made friends with the goat-minded sheep that left eventually. Yes, I was taught to divide all people along pasture animal lines and instantly knew who would die and who would live. I never treated anyone different, though. I secretly wanted the goat life style. It seemed much more fun, and WAS!
